Neal the Confessor, also known as Neal of Ossory, was an Irish bishop who lived in the 12th century. He is best known for his role in opposing the Anglo-Norman invasion of Ireland and for his martyrdom. Neal was a relative of Diarmuid MacMurrough, the King of Leinster, and was appointed Bishop of Ossory in 1152.
